Botanic Providence’s Story

From an early age, Botanic Providence’s founder Jo-Anna has been fascinated by plants and the power they possess. Studying Herbalism at a high academic level and holding certifications from several schools in the US, Jo-Anna continues to broaden her knowledge by studying at the School of Evolutionary Herbalism and seeking registration through the American Herbalist Guild. Despite her extensive academic training, Jo-Anna feels the best teachers have been the plants themselves.

Jo-Anna puts all her knowledge into practice in her role as resident Herbalist at Shewatuck Farm in Rhode Island, where she maintains the medicinal herb gardens and teaches the basics of herbalism. In fact, many of the herbs used in Botanic Providence’s products are grown onsite at Shewatuck Farm.
